Concrete Concrete is non-slip and non-skid and will stay cool in direct sun. Sometimes concrete is just the thing to complement the color and texture of a house’s exterior walls. Though often typecast as cold and forbidding, poured concrete is perhaps even more adaptable than brick. Used with the proper forms and reinforcement, it can conform to almost any shape. It can be lightly smoothed or heavily brushed, surfaced with colorful pebbles, swirled, scored, tinted, patterned, or molded to resemble another material.

Stamped concrete This type of concrete is patterned to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile, and even wood. Stamped concrete can be used to beautify patios as well as decks, driveways, entries and courtyards. There is a wide array of patterns and colors available and the choice of stamped concrete is becoming more popular and frequent. Colors and patterns for stamped concrete are often chosen to blend with other stone or tile elements at the residence. Complex designs incorporating steps, courtyards, and water features can be achieved. Stamped concrete can also be blended with other decorative concrete elements such as exposed aggregate finishes and acid-etch staining.
